Restaurant of the Month: Yesterday Cafe

Hope you're all having a wonderful start to the month. Yes, happy September to everyone. And this also means I get to choose and talk about one restaurant that I've enjoyed so much last month. 

August was a very very busy month for me. And it was probably the best and worst month for me this year. Oh yes, the best and worst at the same time. Yes, it is possible. 

However, I am quite fortunate to have the opportunity to dine in loads of different restaurants. Eating was probably one of the reasons why August was the best month for me (haha). Now you know - I'm a true foodie at heart :) 

I've been to over 10 different restaurants in August so it was almost impossible for me to write this post. I've enjoyed loads of them but I think I will share it in another post. However, one particular restaurant did stand out the most. And again, this restaurant/cafe is found in Kuala Lumpur. The restaurant of the month goes to............

........ YESTERDAY CAFE

Its' location is actually known as a hot-spot for college students. However, this cafe/restaurant is almost like a hidden gem. 

Let me tell you, once I entered this cafe, my initial reaction was:"Oh wow! This place smells so gooooood!" Honestly, if I were to choose between a perfume or that food smell, I would gladly wear that food smell on me all day long. And that's how seriously nice smelling it was. 

I didn't actually think I would favour this restaurant because the food and the menu are more towards Western cuisine rather than Oriental cuisine or fusion food. And why would I think this cafe can beat the cafes I've tried in the UK, right? 

WRONG!

I enjoyed this cafe so much because the food and the environment fit perfectly. Almost like they're complimenting each other. There's a nice cozy area for people who prefer to be seated at a quiet little corner, there's a chatty area for people who are there for a little hang out session, there's a nice family area in between. It's just perfect. 

The most important reason as to why I picked this cafe is because of their plating. I learned from a great chef back in UK that "plating is everything!" because nowadays, and I'm not just speaking for myself, the eyes eat first.

Agree? 

I actually quite agree with that statement. Haha. 

Everything they served was wonderfully plated. And then, there's the part where the food tastes as good as it looks. And this cafe definitely delivered. I loved it so much.

I am definitely coming back here on my next trip. Definitely worth the try :)

Restaurant of the Month: Yellow Brick Road

Greetings all you lovely foodies out there

Yes, it's that time of the month again where I share with you which restaurant I fancied the most for last month. Whooop whooop!

July was probably one of the best months for me this year. I got to try some lovely new restaurants, celebrated my brother's birthday, got to hang out with loads of my friends. It's just such a lovely feeling. And let me tell you, I've been doing nothing but eating more than I should every. single. day. 

Life of a foodie ei? :D 

*Not complaining about anything here* :P 

Anyway, let me get straight to the restaurant of my choice for July. This place is sort of like a cafe/restaurant and it is located in Kuala Lumpur. And the restaurant of July goes to......

.............. YELLOW BRICK ROAD

First of all, let me just clarify that there are no yellow bricks in the cafe/restaurant. 

There are so many great and wonderful cafes/restaurants in Kuala Lumpur. But I really liked this one because it's just such a cozy place to be in and the restaurant just gave me such a good vibe. 

The food is really special. Nothing quite like I imagined it to be. I mean, you'll never find food like this in the UK. Well, maybe you can but in Kuala Lumpur, fusion food is the ultimate IN-THING right now. 

I came here for brunch with my brother. I was feeling a little tired and bored of hawker food so I decided to try this place. Since it was brunch, we both ordered soft shell crab charcoal burgers and pancakes to share. 

This was probably one of the most beautiful pancakes I've ever seen in my entire life. There were so many flavours. I mean, just look at the picture. There's just so much going on in your mouth, which personally, I really like. I don't like food to just have that one-taste. Unless that one-taste is mind-blowingly good. 

It was like a party in my mouth with the soft shell crab burger - bursting with amazing flavours! AND OH-MY-SWEET-POTATO-FRIES (because who doesn't love sweet potato fries)!! I absolutely loved it. Like I said, nothing quite like the burgers in the UK. 

I actually wanted to order more but there were just two of us and it was impossible for us to eat some more. 

Another factor would be the modern decor. I absolutely loved the decorations, the menu, the wonderful customer service. It just gives people such a comfortable feeling. And that is why I have picked Yellow Brick Road as my restaurant of the month. 

This place is definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a good cup of coffee and a nice little cozy spot to chill with your friends. 

Restaurant of the Month: Hog Wild in Bali

Good evening all my lovely foodies out there :D

It feels like ages ago since I last wrote a "restaurant of the month" post but turns out, I'm actually up-to-date with it. I've just been writing and updating my blog a little bit more than before, that's why it feels like a long time ago since I last picked my restaurant of choice.

June was such a lovely travel month for me. I've tried so many different kinds of cuisines and food. Honestly, it is quite difficult for me to pick ONE restaurant because I've literally been to so many good restaurants last month. But there is this ONE particular restaurant that really stood out to me. I practically went there 5 times on my 8-day-trip. Yup, you do the math.

So, here I am today - sharing my chosen restaurant in the month of June. It is none other than.........







........ Hog Wild in Bali

*For those of you who are either vegan or vegetarian, I'm terribly sorry for this post. But they do have a list of vegetarian/vegan options on the menu*



This restaurant appeared in the top search when I Googled "places to eat in Bali". So, I thought to myself "why the heck not?!" I mean, I'm not going to say no to ribs and sweet potato chips. I mean, this place IS actually famous for their ribs and chips.

Hog Wild in Bali made it to my "restaurant of the month" because the whole concept and idea of the restaurant is based on hogs. It has a very modern design to it and has a very good atmosphere. Beers and cocktails are also available, which is a BONUS. I love the whole environment and the staffs were super friendly.

If any of you out there are planning a trip to Bali, definitely try this place out. Super affordable and you will NOT regret it :)

Restaurant of the Month: San Marino Restaurant

Good morning my lovely foodies out there

It feels like forever since I last written a post about food but that's not really true. I've just been writing about my life so much that it feels like I haven't posted my "Restaurant of the Month" post. Don't worry - I never forget. After all, I am a true foodie at heart :D

I've got a wonderful place to share with all of you today. I've been here a couple of times on dates and this place is just so amazing. Might look like your average restaurant from the outside but once you step in, "OH MY GOOD GOD" will be the only thing you can say :D

So, my favourite restaurant in May is............










............ San Marino

Italian food.

I just love 'em!

First of all, the atmosphere in this restaurant is just uh-may-zing! It's modern and classic, the staffs are so nice, and the menu is just incredible. It's located in Sunderland and just near to where I live, so it's the perfect location for me :)

At the beginning, they'll give you some bread to nibble on, which is a BONUS! And I'm talking high quality bread.

I'm not really an expert when it comes to describing Italian food but I do love a good Italian meal. So, I'm just going to let the pictures do the talking for me instead :D

Honestly, best garlic bread I've ever tasted so far. And I'm not even a huge fan of garlic breads but this just completely changed my mind about them. But I do only order garlic bread in this restaurant :P

Bottom: Seafood Tagliatelle (OMG YES!)

This was just SOOOOO GOOOOOOOD!

I love this place so so much and I wish they could expand. The restaurant is always packed - probably because of the amazing food. So make sure you book before you come here :)

Restaurant of the Month: Coffea Caban

Good morning all you lovely foodies out there :) 

As you all know, it's time for me to name my favourite place to eat in the month of April. This month (well, April), I've been to probably 5-6 places in total but I came back to this particular place TWICE. 

So, yes.......it is THAT good! 

My pick for April is........... 

............ COFFEA CABAN 

First of all, let me just show you how amazing the Hot Chocolate looks!

I mean, is that not just perfection? 

I was in heaven for a second when I took a sip. As most of you will know, I'm a huge hot chocolate lover so I'm very critical about this. The Deluxe Hot Chocolate is a MUST in this little "restaurant". I guess this is sort of like a restaurant because it serves pretty much everything - from pastas and burgers to rice and chicken curry. 

Now, on to the pictures :) I know it might look like nothing special but trust me, this place is definitely worth the try!

So please don't ask me why I don't have a bikini bod yet! HAHA! These were so so good. I especially liked the oreo cheesecake and raspberry cheesecake. The banoffee tart and caramel cake were amazing too!

   

 Oh just me enjoying my hot chocolate if you couldn't tell. 

And this is why Coffea Caban made it to my "restaurant of the month". The environment itself is just so cozy (sorry for not taking pictures of the surroundings. I was just too into the food). I can't believe this is located right behind my work place. Amazing! Worth a try or two :P
