GOODBYE AUGUST!

It's the end of August everyone.

I, for one, absolutely cannot believe it. Honestly, it feels like time is passing quicker and quicker by the second! And I know I say that a lot, but whenever I close my eyes at night, I could still remember my Bali trip back in June like it was yesterday.

At the beginning of the month, we had the Olympics to look forward to and all of a sudden, it ended. Imagine all the athletes and the Olympians preparing for what could possibly the biggest event of their lives for 4 years and it's all over in a few weeks time.

It literally feels like yesterday that everyone was raving about summer - summer holidays, summer outfits, bikinis, perfect summer bodies, etc., and now, most of the blogs I'm reading are about "Things to Do Before Summer Ends" or "10 Best Summer Outfits in 2016" or "Best Bikini of the Year" or "Best Autumn Outfits You Should Try This Year" or "Say Goodbye to Summer Dresses" etc. I mean, summer is already coming to an end! That's 3 months gone! Honestly, I don't know how I feel about that.

Exciting?

Terrifying?

I just don't know.

But all I can say is, so much have happened in the past couple of months. A very rocky adventure, shall we say.

I am excited and a bit scared at the same time about what is to come but that's probably the best bit about life, isn't it? The fun and exciting part is not knowing.

The unknown.

The uncertainty that scares most of us.

The unpredictable that excites some of us.

I have absolutely no regrets on all the decisions I've made so far. I have enjoyed August thoroughly. I really have. I've been living out of my comfort zone and also doing things that scare the living sh!t out of me.

Truth be told, I'm enjoying every bit of it :)

RADIO HOST AUDITION

Good afternoon everybody!

I hope you're all having the best weekend ever considering it's a bank holiday Monday tomorrow. Here's to long weekends :D

So, I took a very sudden trip to Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday to go for an audition the following day. And I actually just came back from KL yesterday. I am extremely tired because I've been going to KL for two weeks in a row now.

I received a call from TraxxFM (a radio station here in Malaysia) on Monday - asking me to go for an interview/audition on Thursday. Hence, this little impromptu trip.

When I arrived the radio station (which was massive), I had no idea it was an audition at the time because they said it would be an interview. And at the back of my head, an interview will be no longer than half an hour. I went in and saw the word "AUDITION" in block capital. I honestly had no idea what to expect.

So, I was placed in a room with 15-20 people. It was really tensed at first. No one wanted to speak to anyone. It was like a competition and I felt uncomfortable at first. But after an hour or so, we all started talking and bonding, which was really good.

The producers handed us 5 stories in which we have choose 3 of the stories and paraphrase it and talk about it under a minute. All of us had a task of writing and completing a script in 15 minutes. The script had to include an introduction, 3 of the stories, an entertainment news written by yourself, a closing to your show, followed by breaking news. So, 7 talk-sets altogether. It was confusing at first - trust me, I didn't even get what one of the producers were talking about when she was explaining this. But when it came to the time, I sort of knew what they wanted.

They then brought me into the studio where there were 5-6 people watching me from the other side of the glass room. It was nerve-wrecking at first because all eyes were on me and what I was going to say. After a few seconds, I got comfortable with the whole thing, so no biggie.

All in all, it was a completely different experience for me. A good kind of different. I loved it. And this can be something I talk about with my friends while we're sitting in a cafe or whatnot :)

I vlogged most of my trip because I think it would something really nice to look back on next time. You can watch it here if you want to:

Happy Sunday y'all! X

P/S: I want to thank my bro for being there for me the whole time :D

FAVOURITE HOLIDAY OUTFIT

"What do you feel most comfortable in when you're on holiday? What kind of outfit do you like most when you're going on vacation? Do you prefer comfort over looks?" - These are all the sorts of questions that go through my head when I'm packing for a trip.

Good evening my lovely readers

I hope you're all having a good start to the week so far. In other words, I hope Monday is not being to rough on you :)

As most of you would know, I went on a 3-night holiday last week with my friend. I was just looking through some of the pictures I took from holiday and I suddenly had this post in mind.

Holiday is the time when you can dress up, be outrages and crazy with outfits, put on something you've never dared to put on, etc. because no one knows who you are and no one gives a crap about how you look. If I'm being completely honest, this is one of the reasons I absolutely love travelling.

I have been absolutely loving this summer playsuit from New Look. It's airy and it's colourful - enough said.

It's very chilled, casual, and comfortable. The 3C's :) This playsuit is my most worn outfit from the holiday and it is also my favourite outfit so far.

Thought I'd add a silly pic of myself at the end to make this post more chilled :)

FAVOURITE POOLSIDE PICTURES

Good evening everyone

I hope you're all having a lovely Sunday so far.

So, I came back from my little getaway just 2 days ago, hence, the absence. But I'm back now and I have some exciting things and stories to share with all of you. But for today's post, I'm going to share a few of my favourite poolside pictures from holiday :)

As most of you would know by now, I absolutely adore beaches. If there is a beach at the place that I'm travelling to, that would be the first on my "to-go" list! However, if there are no beaches whatsoever, pools are the next best thing :)

I just get so relaxed whenever I'm chilling by the pool or having a little dip. I mean, my ideal holiday would be chilling by the pool with a cocktail every now and again whist I'm reading a good book and getting a little tan in my bikini.

And then, there's the part where I actually get in the pool and swim. I feel like I've rediscovered my love for swimming lately.

For the past couple of days whilst I was on holiday, I've just been chilling by the pool, which is why I've decided to share this post :) I loved every second of it especially because the view from the pool was exceptional!

This is when you know you've found a friend for life - when she is as fabulous as you :D I had such an amazing time! Not only because it was so chilled, but also because I got to meet up with my brother and another one of my closest friends.

5 HOMEMADE MOCKTAILS TO TRY THIS WEEK

Greetings all you lovely people out there!

It's 10:30pm where I am right now, which means my weekend is almost over. Now, I'm not really the type of person who only lives for the weekend - I used to be but I'm not anymore (at least I don't think so).

I think I've mentioned this a couple of times in my blog already actually. I see Sundays as a day of relaxation and pampering. I also mentioned in last Sunday's post that I want to make Sundays more fun instead of sitting on my lazy bottom like a couch potato. I think it's OK, sometimes, to go to the extreme to make Sundays fun but not every single Sunday :) Because after all, Sundays are meant to be rest days.

*back to my little blog post*

I've been really loving mocktails at the moment. Not too sure where that obsession came from but I just feel nice not being tipsy or drunk every time I drink. Mocktails are basically non-alcoholic cocktails. So, instead of vodka or whiskey, etc, soda water or fruit juices, etc, will be substitutes. Hence, the word "MOCKtail".

In my previous post, I mentioned that I made a couple of mocktails for my slumber party. I tried making some more today and perfecting some of the recipes that I messed up that night. So, I'm going to share 5 mocktail recipes with you - one mocktail for each day :) Or you can have all 5 in a day (only if you really want to though).

These recipes are super quick and easy. Literally, all you need to do is mix together all the ingredients provided below. You can enjoy them on a cool, breezy evening or a blazing hot afternoon. Either way, they're just amazing. However, the recipes that I'm sharing with you is only made for 1 person. If you're looking to make a larger amount, just multiply the ingredients by the amount of people you're serving :) So, here goes.

MONDAY: VIRGIN MOJITO

I feel like you need something strong to start your week. Virgin mojitos are great to kick start your week. Depending on how strong you want it to be, you can alter the amount of lime juice used in the recipe. However, I feel like I need a bit of a strong, bitter beverage to kick start my week :)

- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon white sugar/brown sugar
- 7 pieces of mint leaves, chopped
- 2 tablespoon lime juice (this is the part where you can alter)
- 1 cup club soda
- mint and lime slices (to decorate)

TUESDAY: CRAN-APPLE CIDER

Second day of the week - still a long way to go. You still need something a little strong to get you through the week. Apple cider gives out a slightly sour taste. Some might actually find it slightly bitter. If you find it bitter, you can choose to add a little sugar for this. I, however, didn't add any sugar because I felt like everything was just nicely combined.

- 1 cup cranberry juice
- 1 cup apple cider
- sugar (optional)

WEDNESDAY: COCONUT AND CUCUMBER COBBLER

It's almost Thursday - come on, we can do this! For me, Wednesdays are a little blend and mundane for me. It's like half of the week is gone but you want the day to be over quicker. Is that just me? Haha! But it's also the time to get ready to chill out. This drink is actually quite blend but it gets you ready for the next few days :D

- 2 cups coconut water/coconut juice
- 2 cucumbers, sliced very thinly
- 1/2 tablespoon lime juice
- pinch of sugar (optional)
- 4 mint leaves, chopped

THURSDAY: SPARKLING SANGRIA

So close to Friday - YES! Time to sweeten things up a bit because we've all had a tiring week so far. Personally, I love Sangria cocktail as it is. However, I wanted to try a non-alcoholic version and see what it tastes like. And it's just as amazing as the cocktail itself! THIS IS SUPER EASY TO MAKE!

- 2 cups sparkling grape juice
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
- 1 apple, sliced
- 5 grapes, sliced (and leave some for decoration)

FRIDAY: FAUX CHAMPAGNE (MY FAVOURITE!)

OMG TGIF! Weekend is finally upon us! No other better beverage to celebrate the weekend than a glass of champagne :) This is my favourite mocktail out of the 5. It just gives out that Friday feeling. I know it sounds insane, considering it's just a drink, but this faux champagne is literally one of the best things I've ever tasted, and I'm not just saying that because I made it. Do give this one a go :)

- 1 cup Ginger ale/ginger beer (although it's called beer, it doesn't really have alcohol in it)
- 1 cup Lychee drink/white grape juice (whichever you can get hold of)
- 1 cup orange juice/pineapple juice (this brings out the champagne colour)
- Frozen grapes (to decorate)

There you go. My 5 easy and simple mocktail recipes for you to try this week. Hope you guys enjoy it! X

GIRLS' NIGHT IN

Good evening my lovely readers

First of all, my sincere apology for disappearing on you for a week. No explanation there. However, I have been planning loads of exciting things and exciting posts for the upcoming weeks. So, do stay tuned for those :)

Meanwhile, one of my exciting things started last night - as you can already tell from the title.

YES! A LITTLE GIRLS' NIGHT IN SESSION ON A FRIDAY NIGHT!

Because we all love Friday nights, don't we?

I wanted this session to be chilled and relaxed and quiet. Since Eunice was having her day off from work, we decided to plan this little session together.

I haven't really had a "girls' night in" before. Like, I never really got to hang out with any of my girl friends and chilled for a night - talking about boys, work, movies, etc. So, I really enjoyed it last night.

In today's post, I would just like to share a few things I've done last night to make a "girls' night in" more exciting and enjoyable than just a casual drinking session with your girl friends.

1) Get a Takeout

I feel like getting takeout is always a much easier and better option than cooking and being exhausted from all the work in the kitchen at home. Eunice and I opted for some Thai food last night because it's been quite a while since we last had Thai food (for me anyways). And also because I just freaking love Thai food, don't I?

For food, as well, I feel like snacks such as crisps and sweets are a MUST on occasions like these. Because when we talk or when we watch TV, there's always going to be something to munch on :) So, we both laid out some crisps and apples on the table.

2) Transform a Room

In other words, your setting. I transformed my sitting room area into a cozy little nest where both of us could lie down in, chill, take pictures and watch TV. It's just nice to transform a room that you've lived in for years into something completely different.

3) Manicure

I feel like a "girls' night in" session isn't really complete without throwing in a girly activity. Eunice has a massive shoe-box collection of nail-polishes. She decided to paint my nails and I opted for more summery colours and went for polka dots nails :P They just look so fun.

4) Mocktails and Cocktails

I mean, this is literally why girls would have nights in with their friends. To drink and bitch about the next person (not really though). But the drinking part is true :) So, I made a few mocktails for us to drink and we also had some alcoholic cider.

All in all, it was such a good night. I really enjoyed it. So, I hope this post will help you in planning your next pajama party/slumber party or anything else you want to call it. Also, it's just a really fun thing to do on weekends.

Have a lovely weekend X
