How I Get Inspired

Whether you're a full-time blogger or a part-time blogger/writer/content creator, I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say this.

We all need some time off to get re-inspired.

As of late, I find myself going away for short weekend getaways quite often to recharge my soul and rekindle my creative thoughts.

Because I live in a big city, I do not quite have easy access to beaches as the whole city is covered with buildings. However, there are places where I can drive 2-3 hours away from the city to retreats and chalets - places to wind down, basically.

The past weekend, I went to a "time capsule retreat" (which I will talk to you about soon) to have some time off. I think being somewhere quiet and secluded is exactly what I needed.

Sometimes, you either need time to yourself to stop thinking completely, or you need time to write down everything that you are thinking about. See, a lot of people have thoughts and ideas that are pure and creative but life gets in the way and they tend to slowly forget about their own creativity.

Hence why, it is so important to go away for a couple of days and just get re-inspired by your own creative thoughts.

That's exactly what I did/what I do to get inspired these days.

How do you get inspired? Where do you get your inspirations from? Let me know in the comments :)

My Playlist for Monday

With the kind of job I have, you may think that after 8-9 hours of non-stop music, I would prefer to go back to a quiet home.

Nope, not me.

To me, one of the best things about being a radio announcer is I get to go through all kinds of music - whether it's brand new or ancient. I do like all kinds of genres but because of my background as a dancer, I do stick to hip hop, pop, and EDM a TEENIE bit more.

Anyway, Mondays are always a drag even though I love what I do. That's why I make sure to create the perfect playlist on Sunday night so that when Monday comes, I'm so ready to take on the day.

If you don't believe me, try it. Music helps make Mondays a little bit more bearable. You can definitely trust me on this.

So, I just decided to share 5 songs that are in my playlist for today.

1. Silence

2. What Lovers Do

3. Just A Memory

4. Stay With You

5. Bite My Tongue

P/S: You may notice that I go with the more underrated music. But I hope you guys enjoy it x

#OOTD : PINE GREEN

This is one of my favourite things in my wardrobe right now. I never thought that pine green would actually look good on me. Hence why I was extra excited to put this on.

Sheer and simple.

Wonderful piece to style.

NECKLACE & HANDBAG: Cotton On

SUNDAY FUNDAY: PHOTOSHOOT + LIFE UPDATE

Photo shooting in my pjs ..... to be exact.

If I'm being completely honest with you, I've always felt a little weird whenever it comes to a photoshoot because I never know how to pose or what facial expressions to give.

But as of late, I've actually found joy in photoshoots. I mean, I actually enjoy it at times. And by this, I don't mean people/professionals taking pictures of me, but me taking pictures of things as well. I guess it's because I've been doing it more often in the past 2 years.

However, if you get to know me, you'll know that I don't really care how I look in pictures. My close friends will describe me as the girl who pulls the weirdest face or the girl who always smiles with her teeth showing when it comes to taking pictures. It's completely true :D I find that those "real" moments and "real" laughs are the ones that I love the most, no matter how horrendous I look.

Anyway, I did another shoot yesterday for an upcoming collaboration and I enjoyed it a lot especially because I was in my pjs and in my own bed.

Life has been hectic lately. I didn't even realize that March is almost gone until I was filling up a form at work today. I mean, I hate the fact that I cannot take a minute to fathom how quickly time flies. And honestly speaking, I am afraid. I'm afraid of closing my eyes and missing a moment. I'm afraid I'm not spending enough time with people I care about.

But other than that, my illness is finally gone and I'm soooo ready for another break.

Hope you guys are enjoying what's left of March because I know I will.

3 Things to Tell Yourself on Your Worst Days

I'm pretty sure I speak for everyone when I say this.

Everyone will experience bad days, some more than others.

Bad days are inevitable. So, goodluck to those of you who are trying to avoid it. I, however, have tried avoiding bad days and problems, only to find out that running away from them is absolutely pointless (something I learned the hard way).

So, take it from me. It's better to face the storm than to run away from it.

If I'm being completely honest with you, February has been no picnic for me. In fact, I think it's probably one of my worst months yet considering it's only the second month of the year. 28 days seems like 50 days. And here, I thought January would be a terrible month.

But hey, enough complaining. I'm not here to ramble about how terrible my 28 days have been. I'm here to tell you that, looking back now, I'm proud of myself because I braved through everything and faced my worst days ALONE.

So, here are the 3 things I always remind myself on bad days.

1. Nothing lasts forever

Whether it's the good times or bad, nothing will ever last forever, as harsh as that may sound. All you can do is cherish the good moments and face the bad ones with your head held high and know that it won't last forever.

2. Just keep going

When a plane is going through rough winds and turbulence, it doesn't stop just because of bad weather conditions, it goes on until it reaches its destination. And so will you! Because bad days are just like rough winds.

3. Everything will be OK

Even though it may seem like your whole world is falling apart right now (trust me, I've had my fair share of days like that), truth is, it isn't. It's just a day of things not turning out how you've planned it to be. Stay positive and remind yourself that it's going to be OK.

Remember, it's not the end of the world. Keep fighting and don't you ever give up! These are the things you should do everyday: count your blessings, let go of what you can't control, just breathe.

1.5 DAYS

What would you do if you only had a day and a half with the people you love?

What would you talk about?

What would all of you do together?

Good evening all you lovely people out there.

I just got back from a 2-day-trip not long ago. And I was feeling under the weather last week and I know that's not an excuse to go on a hiatus but just thought you should know why I disappeared for a week. Loads of crazy things happened last week and my brain could not fathom and take everything in and that was also one of the reasons I disappeared (more on that much later on though). I do apologize for the hiatus but I'm back now and I've got some cool and exciting posts coming up :)

So, back to my questions.

What would you do if you only had 1.5 days with the people you love? Or 1.5 hours for that matter?

In my opinion, time is and always will be a limiting factor. There's never enough time when it comes to the people you love.

My trip this time was to meet up with 2 of my uncles and also my brother. I haven't met my uncles for over 3 years now. They live in Sydney and I was in the UK for 3 years so it was almost impossible for a meet up. But we were all fortunate enough to meet up back here in Malaysia.

Why only 1.5 days?

Because that was all the time we were given. Not by me, not by them. Not by anyone. Not by any choice.

Here is what I did on the 1.5 days I had with them.

First of all, I didn't go all out and to the extreme to make it "the trip of my life". I didn't spend my time making unending lists of things to do with them. I didn't make any crazy plans.

Instead, I spent those days chilling with them. We spent time enjoying each other's company. And because we haven't seen each other in such a long time, I, for one, honestly didn't know where to begin or what topic to dive into first because there's just so much to talk about. But eventually, it's just enjoying our time together and talking about whatever that comes to mind.

Random subjects, life in general, catching up, little gossip sessions every now and again, crazy jokes. Everything.

One of the things I've come to realize about myself as I grow older is that I appreciate and enjoy every moment spent with my loved ones more, whether it's talking absolute nonsense or saying nothing at all, and cherish all the memories I can ever get, whether it's through camera or through myself.

Everything that needs to be said and done will not necessarily be said and done at the end of the day. But it's just the company and comfort you get when you're spending time together that matters. And that, honestly, is more than enough for me.

What would you do? :)

FAVOURITE HOLIDAY OUTFIT

"What do you feel most comfortable in when you're on holiday? What kind of outfit do you like most when you're going on vacation? Do you prefer comfort over looks?" - These are all the sorts of questions that go through my head when I'm packing for a trip.

Good evening my lovely readers

I hope you're all having a good start to the week so far. In other words, I hope Monday is not being to rough on you :)

As most of you would know, I went on a 3-night holiday last week with my friend. I was just looking through some of the pictures I took from holiday and I suddenly had this post in mind.

Holiday is the time when you can dress up, be outrages and crazy with outfits, put on something you've never dared to put on, etc. because no one knows who you are and no one gives a crap about how you look. If I'm being completely honest, this is one of the reasons I absolutely love travelling.

I have been absolutely loving this summer playsuit from New Look. It's airy and it's colourful - enough said.

It's very chilled, casual, and comfortable. The 3C's :) This playsuit is my most worn outfit from the holiday and it is also my favourite outfit so far.

Thought I'd add a silly pic of myself at the end to make this post more chilled :)

LIVE YOUR LIFE

OK. So this is my current view right now. Dark sky, grey clouds, the smell of freshly cut grass, the occasional breeze blowing through my hair. I wouldn't say it is too warm or too cold or too windy. In other words, I would describe this as the perfect temperature. Not exactly perfect weather as it is dark and dreary but perfect temperature. The ideal place for me to be right this very second.

Good evening my lovely readers

I have been slightly demotivated and uninspired lately (as you can tell by the lack of posts). Apologies. I don't exactly know the reason behind this. Some days, I have loads of fire burning in me, loads of things that catch my attention and inspires me; some days (lately), I just want to sit at home and do absolutely nothing. And I'm not going to lie, today feels like the perfect day to do nothing at all. Yet somehow, here I am - inspired and firing up a blog post :)

"I guess my hometown isn't as eventful as I imagined it to be." was what I thought to myself.

OI! SNAP OUT OF IT! *clicks fingers*

"Remember when I was daily-blogging last month before I left the UK? I made everyday fun just because I could! So why not do it here too? Just because it's my hometown doesn't mean I can't find fun things to do and make my days interesting!" was the answer I gave myself when I snapped out of it.

Now, I'm not promising any daily blogs or whatever but I've got a few exciting things up my sleeves. You'll see what I mean very soon :) *I mean, you guys are always the first to know anyway*

I've been reading quite a lot of books recently. I think reading has become one of my hobbies now. I mean, I've always loved reading anyway but I never really had the time to read with work and all that. But now that I can, I've been reading so so many books and I'm loving them.

So, I came across this question in a book.

"Where is the richest place on Earth?"

Now, I want all of you to think and come up with an answer before you continue on reading. Because after 10 guesses, I still didn't get the answer. But when I was finally given the answer, I could see why I never thought of that. So, I want you to think hard.

The answer is:

Graveyards

Why?

Because graveyards are where all dreams and hopes die along with people who didn't do anything about their dreams and hopes.

Let me explain.

Imagine this.

You're on your death bed and on your final moments when you close your eyes, you see all the "ghosts" around you. Those "ghosts" are your dreams, your ideas, your hopes - and they are all saying to you "Look. You had this - you had all of us when you were alive! We are the ones that came to YOU. Yet you chose not to do anything about it and you know what? Now we're going to die with you.

I mean, that is probably one of the deepest things I've ever read in my entire life. It is so so true! I don't want to lie on my death bed one day and face my "ghosts". And that is why I am totally inspired today.

YOU are in control of your life and only YOU alone are entitled to your happiness. No matter how you view your life, how you view yourself or other people, everything comes down to how you want to see the world.

I am slowly figuring things out - by things, I really just mean figuring out myself and what I want in life. Slowly taking baby steps because nobody achieves something big overnight. Same goes to happiness. No one achieves true happiness overnight. Everything takes time, hard work and patience.

Everything starts from you :)

Monday Motivation

"Monday is the perfect day to correct last week's mistakes." - Annonymous

I don't know about most of you out there but I'm one of those people who live life by amazing quotes and good sayings. Especially on rough days, I would just read positive quotes over and over and over again.

Sometimes, I feel like some quotes represent me and my life, which is a little scary because of how real they are.

Today is just one of those days when I'm feeling a bit down. So I decided to share 10 quotes and sayings that I've been loving recently.

Be grateful no matter what

Don't be afraid to try new things

First impressions lie

Something to always remember about our parents

Be yourself

Have faith

In times of darkness, meditate or pray

We have all the answers. All we need is action.

Key to a happier life

Never pass up opportunities

Hope this post can relate to some of you out there. Just remember, you're not alone :)

Thank you for reading X
