Where I Stayed in Langkawi

If you have been following me over on social, you'll know that I spent last weekend in beautiful Langkawi. Ever since my last visit in April, I've wanted to make another visit to the beautiful island and so I planned it for this month.

I stayed at a place called "Bella Vista Waterfront". I wanted to stay at a hotel with an amazing view and this place offered exactly that!

This trip was more of a relaxing getaway rather than anything else. I had nothing planned. No itineraries, no gadgets, no disturbances, just pure relaxation. Therefore, I needed that sort of ambiance. I did not want to move around a lot (besides going to the beach), hence a nice accommodation with a great view.

PICNIC IN THE PARK

I've always loved the idea of picnics. Parks, picnics, nature - there's just something about the combo that is so magical.

Besides beaches, I'd say being in the park with my favourite people, having a nice time, is the next best thing.

I can't remember the last picnic I had but I have been planning one for a long time. And finally did it over the weekend. My friend and I found a nice park (Wetlands, Putrajaya) to have our little picnic and I absolutely loved it.

I would definitely recommend going to the park and chilling once in a while because it's just amazing. Pack up a picnic, take lovely pictures, enjoy the nature and just relax.

Here's a little weekend vlog for you:

The Rub Bar, KL

Whenever I go on holiday to places like Thailand or Vietnam or Indonesia, I would always dedicate a day or two for a little massage appointment. One, because it is much cheaper as compared to Malaysia. Two, easy access. Three, because I just walk way too much when I'm on holiday.

However, when I'm not on vacation, I will still try to find time to squeeze in a few massage appointments because I'm only human. I sit in front of 4 monitor screens everyday and work on my laptop. And because I've been swimming a lot lately, my body is constantly yearning for a good body massage.

I do have two regular ones that I go to in KL but I was introduced (invited) to go to this new one called "The Rub Bar", which opened two months ago, so I went over the weekend to try it out. Let me tell you, you will NOT be disappointed. Everything looked so posh and neat, the decor is modern, and the service definitely deserves a 5-star.

Once I entered the place, I was served with ginger tea (which is one of my favourite teas) and they actually sell homemade soaps which smelled amazing. I definitely felt like I was walking into a grand spa. It was definitely a good hour spent on a Saturday morning and I am 100% going to come back here.

Highly recommended! If you haven't been, you should definitely try it out. They are having some promotions now so head over as soon as you can or as soon as you need to de-stress :)
You won't regret it

Weekend Getaway: Sentosa Villa

One thing I absolutely love about Malaysia is that there are so many hidden gems here. By hidden gems, I do mean villas and resorts and retreats where millennials can glamp.

Oh yes. We take glamping very seriously nowadays.

There are plenty of cute little hideaways you can find in Malaysia. The one I went to over the weekend was Sentosa Villa, Taiping, Perak (which is like a 4-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur).

If you are looking for total tranquility, nature, affordable, peace and serenity, you should definitely check this place out. My friend and I went for the junior suite. There are plenty of other options but we just opted for this one because the whole point was to wind down and relax. And Sentosa Villa was the perfect place to do it.

If you've had a really rough week or rough month and you're just looking for a short escape into nature, I highly recommend this place because I came back feeling refreshed and pumped.

Weekend Getaway: Time Capsule Retreat Edition

In one of my previous posts, I did mention that I went to a "time capsule retreat" last weekend.

Holy heck! It was amazing!

You're basically in the middle of a forest, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nature, the sound of crickets, the smell of trees, the breezy environment - oh it was just amazing.

Here are some of my favourite pictures from that weekend getaway.

I think if you're really stressed out, a nice little weekend getaway retreat is exactly what you need. Or a nice time on the beach. I vlogged most of my trip, so if you want to watch it, the video is down below. Let me know your kind of weekend getaway in the comments :)

How I Get Inspired

Whether you're a full-time blogger or a part-time blogger/writer/content creator, I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say this.

We all need some time off to get re-inspired.

As of late, I find myself going away for short weekend getaways quite often to recharge my soul and rekindle my creative thoughts.

Because I live in a big city, I do not quite have easy access to beaches as the whole city is covered with buildings. However, there are places where I can drive 2-3 hours away from the city to retreats and chalets - places to wind down, basically.

The past weekend, I went to a "time capsule retreat" (which I will talk to you about soon) to have some time off. I think being somewhere quiet and secluded is exactly what I needed.

Sometimes, you either need time to yourself to stop thinking completely, or you need time to write down everything that you are thinking about. See, a lot of people have thoughts and ideas that are pure and creative but life gets in the way and they tend to slowly forget about their own creativity.

Hence why, it is so important to go away for a couple of days and just get re-inspired by your own creative thoughts.

That's exactly what I did/what I do to get inspired these days.

How do you get inspired? Where do you get your inspirations from? Let me know in the comments :)

GLAMPING : BEST WEEKEND #2

Back in September, I started this little mini series called "Best weekends series". So, here I am with my 2nd one.

If you haven't read some of my previous posts, I mentioned that I went on a weekend retreat getaway a couple of weeks ago and it was just absolutely perfect.

Today, one of my colleagues actually asked me where the pictures were taken. And I told her Sekeping Serendah (Malaysia) - it is just a couple of hours drive out of the city. She was amazed. I told her to definitely try it out sometime.

But hey, glamping (glamorous camping). It was my first time too and I think I'm getting kind of obsessed. If I'm being completely honest, I loved it so much so that I even planned another one a week from now. Oops.

Here are some of the things I did over that weekend:

1) Reconnect with nature

2) Glamped

3) Outdoor activities: hiked, cooked, swam.....etc.

I vlogged the whole thing. The video is down below if you want to watch what happened on that weekend :) Hopefully this will help some of you who are planning a weekend getaway or just planning what to do on your weekends :)
