PICNIC IN THE PARK

I've always loved the idea of picnics. Parks, picnics, nature - there's just something about the combo that is so magical.

Besides beaches, I'd say being in the park with my favourite people, having a nice time, is the next best thing.

I can't remember the last picnic I had but I have been planning one for a long time. And finally did it over the weekend. My friend and I found a nice park (Wetlands, Putrajaya) to have our little picnic and I absolutely loved it.

I would definitely recommend going to the park and chilling once in a while because it's just amazing. Pack up a picnic, take lovely pictures, enjoy the nature and just relax.

Here's a little weekend vlog for you:

SUNDAY FUNDAY: BALCONY PICNIC

As most of you may know, I'm always trying to explore my inner creativity and put that to the test by following the directions of where my brain would actually lead me to. This is the time where I come up with most of my random activities and just hope that there's someone crazy enough to go along with my ideas and programs. Today, my cousin was crazy enough to go along with this plan :)

Good evening my lovely readers

I hope you're all having a wonderful day so far. I definitely did enjoy my day today.

So, around this time last week, I wanted to get off my "lazy Sunday" ass and plan a fun Sunday because I feel like I haven't had a "Sunday Funday" in such a long time! So, I thought of this crazy idea of having a picnic. However, I didn't exactly know where to have it. Unlike in the UK where you can have picnics in the park under the cool weather, the weather in Malaysia sort of stays constant at 38 degrees Celsius throughout the day. So, it is quite a challenge to find a cool place to have a picnic.

But then, my brain took me here!

Yes, my balcony.

*So, I'm practically giving you guys a little sneak peak of my house in this post. Well, 10% of my house anyway*

What better place to have a picnic than in your own home, right? I mean, if you have a backyard or a garden or just wherever you feel comfortable, grab yourself a towel or a blanket and you're pretty much good to go. I mean, it's easy and it's convenient.

I picked my balcony because it has a brilliant shade which covers pretty much 80% of the sun and since it's upstairs, it is a bit cooler because of the breeze that comes along every once or twice a minute. I'm not going to lie, it is still pretty warm but as long as you're dressed for the weather and you have drinks to cool you down, it's all good.

I feel like the setting is really important for any picnics. For me, it must give out a comfortable vibe, hence, all the pillows. Pillows are just so lovely and cozy.

As for food and drinks, I feel like under such a warm weather, it's just better to keep things simple. Fruits are a definite MUST! Even when I had my little "indoor house picnic" back in the UK, there were cherries, strawberries and blueberries. Today, I decided to go for dragon-fruits and strawberries because I don't think all of you know how much I love pink yet (even fruits!). Haha! Not really. I haven't had dragon-fruits in 3 years and I just thought "why not?

And also, because it's pink.

Besides fruits, easy things like crisps and croissants are super quick to prepare. You can actually buy some more snacks if you like, but because this balcony picnic was only for me and Jacqueline, we decided not to go overboard :)

Drinks are fairly simple. No matter what, I always have to have some sort of chilled green tea because I just freaking love it, don't I? And also some fruit juice would be nice and refreshing. I opted for pineapple juice, of course.

Overall, it was just such a lovely day. I've always had a struggle of making my Sundays fun because like I said, I'm more of a "lazy Sunday" kind of girl. But it's always nice to have a fun Sunday once in a while.

INDOOR HOUSE PICNIC + NETFLIX

Good afternoon everyone!

Hope you're all kicking Monday in the butt right now. I know I am. And I'm also trying not to let Monday kick me in the butt anymore :)

Back to my story.....

Lately, I've seen a lot of my friends getting out of their houses to enjoy the sun here in the UK. I know I've been doing that a lot too - almost everyday. I love how I can enjoy the sun without getting sunburnt or without feeling too hot. That's probably what I love the most about Spring. The weather is just perfect for me. Because when summer comes, I will either get sunburnt or uneven tan lines.

Not to mention, there's no such thing as enjoying the sun back in my country. It pretty much feels like I'm living in an oven - something I'm not really looking forward to. But since I don't get to spend summer here in the UK, at least I get to spend "summer" back home :D

DAY 3 OF MY LITTLE ADVENTURES: INDOOR PICNIC + NETFLIX

Sundays are just perfect. I've never really appreciated Sundays as a student because it just feels like any other weekdays where you just get your brain ready for another week of torture and read through all your notes for an exam you might not even know about. Pop quiz - that's the term for it (lol)!

Since I'm doing "something different" everyday, I decided to have a picnic - in my room! Well, this wasn't entirely my idea, it was the boys'(thanks for the ideas, guys).

Initially, I planned to go to a park nearby to have a little picnic but the weather was just not on my side. In fact, it was raining cats and dogs - perfect sleeping weather - might I add.

After we finished church at 12 noon, it was hot and sunny. At 1pm, grey clouds filled the sky and even though we could still see a tiny hint of sun, it just wasn't promising. So we all went to my place to prepare some picnic food and see if we could trust the weather. It started pouring at 2pm, which was when we had finished preparing everything.

Hence, indoor picnic :D

Trust me, it wasn't a bad idea.

I already cleaned up my room last few days because I had friends coming over and kept it tidy ever since. So, we had a nice cosy picnic in my room :D

As usual, we prepared more than our tummy could eat. But it's always better to have leftovers instead of half-empty tummies.

The rain wasn't stopping so we decided to watch some movies and catch up on some Big Bang Theory (my new favourite sitcom)!

It was just such a relaxing day. I enjoyed it so much.

After all, Sundays are for chilling and relaxing :D
