TOP 5 DELICIOUS FOOD

Good evening all you foodies out there :)

As most of you would know, I have been travelling a lot lately which can only mean ONE obvious thing - FOOOOOOOD.

I was inspired to write this post when I was looking through my whole travel photo album earlier today. As I've mentioned in my previous post, I have been to loads of different restaurants in the past couple of weeks and my "restaurant of the month" post was almost impossible for me to write. So, I decided to write another post on all the amazing food I've tried so far. I feel like I really need to do these dishes justice by writing about them. Haha!

Like all good things - GOOD FOOD need to be shared!

AMPERSAND by CULINARY REBELS

MY PERSONAL OPINION: BEST MEAT COMBO

I came here back in July with my brother and a few of his mates. Honestly, the effort they put in your food can definitely be seen on your plate. The menu is obviously all about the meat. I can't remember all the names of the dishes but I remember all of us ordering all the specials which include pork, beef, chicken and lamb. The ambiance of the restaurant suits the food that they serve perfectly. The setting and decor are very modernized. And here's a little fun fact (well, for me, at least) : Ampersand means the logo "&".

KGB

MY PERSONAL OPINION: BEST BURGER AND FRIES

I came here recently with my brother. Basically, the restaurant's motto is "Because Life is too Short for a Bad Burger". And hell to the yes, I completely agree with that. The fries that they serve though, was the highlight for me, to be completely honest with you. I have never forced myself to ever finish a portion of fries that I could not finish. With these fries though, even though I knew I was full, I just wanted more! Yes, it is THAT good.

NAJ & BELLE

MY PERSONAL OPINION: BEST DESSERTS

I think all of you would know by now that desserts are my absolute fave! I mean, in a 3-course-meal, I would rather give up the mains and go for the desserts instead. And I have my desserts before and after my meal. Yes, that is how much I love 'em. And for me to name this place the best place for desserts IS actually saying something. All I can say to you is : TRY THE WATERMELON CAKE BECAUSE IT IS DIVINE!

IPPUDO

MY PERSONAL OPINION: BEST RAMEN

When it comes to Japanese cuisine, I normally just go for sushi. I have actually had a couple of ramens from different Japanese restaurants before and I was never too keen on them. So, when my friend suggested this place, I was feeling a little meh. But I decided to give it a go anyway because I wanted to try it. Holy heck! That ramen was beautiful.

IKEA MEATBALLS

MY PERSONAL OPINION: BEST MEATBALLS (duh!)

I felt really left out when probably 99% of the people that I know have actually tried IKEA meatballs. So, I made it a mission to give it a go on my previous trip. I remembered feeling absolutely stuffed from breakfast and my brother decided to go for a walk in IKEA. And I said to him "right, we are going for meatballs and I don't care if you have them or not, but I'm having Swedish meatballs today!" Some people may think it's overrated but in my opinion, they are probably the best meatballs I've ever tasted in my entire life. The cranberry sauce just makes it perfect. Absolutely gorgeous.

So, that concludes my top 5 food I've tried so far!

Do give these places a go if you are ever in Kuala Lumpur. Trust me, you will not regret it.

HELLO JUNE + HOMESICK

"The trouble is, you think you have time." - Buddha

DAY 12 OF MY LITTLE ADVENTURES: WELCOMING JUNE + FEELING A LITTLE HOMESICK

OK. Before I start, please tell me I'm not the only one who sometimes wish that time would just stop for 5 minutes and give me a break.

I honestly cannot believe it's already June. It feels like just yesterday I talked about how I can't believe it's May. In that post, I told myself that I should always ask myself these questions at the end of every month:

1) What have you done in May (or whichever month) that you're proud of?
2) What have you done in May (or whichever month) that you're happy and grateful for?

Last month, I was struggling with these 2 questions (you can revisit the post here).

But today, as I'm writing up this post right now, I can name so many things that I've done last month and things that I'm proud of. I'm especially proud of myself for having the strength to continue on writing about my life and events surrounding my life everyday. I think it's safe to say I've spent my time wisely :)

So for once, I'm going to say "Hello June, I can't wait to see what you have to offer and what I can take from you." instead of "OMG! It's June. What am I doing with my life?!". Because this time, I know what I'm doing.

I'm living.

And I hope all of you are to :)

I've just been having loads of "me" time these 2 days. Which means meditating more and relaxing more. This is mainly because the weather has been absolute crap but also because I've been a little ill and homesick.

Most of you know that I'm going back to my country in 2 weeks time. To be honest, I am missing my home - A LOT! Yes, it took me almost 3 years to feel homesick :P Most people feel homesick the first few weeks away from home, but not me. Nah-uh. 3 years! I don't really know what that says about me (lol)!

I miss my family, friends, food (the 3 important "F"s in life haha) but most of all, I miss my dogs. I miss being able to drive.

Oh just one of my dogs. She's soooo cute!!! I mean, just look at her!

I haven't even started packing yet because everything is just happening too fast! Sometimes, I fear that the next minute I open my eyes and look in the mirror, I would see a 70-year-old me with white hair and wrinkled skin. Time is just flying by quicker and quicker each day. It's like being on a Corkscrew roller coaster instead of a Ferris Wheel.

In all honesty though, I am excited to finally go home. And I'm also excited for my little trip before actually going back to my hometown.

THINGS TO CROSS OFF MY SUMMER BUCKET LIST: MEDITATE

P/S: By "me" time, I also mean me having cake. Haha! Since the weather has been bad almost everyday, I've been at home eating this Red Velvet Cake my boyfriend got for me on Saturday.

Sorry summer bod! Haha! Never had one anyway XD

QUITTING MY JOB + BAKING

Hello my lovelies

I'm just going to get straight to the point without giving any long intro :)

DAY 6 OF MY LITTLE ADVENTURES: QUITTING MY OFFICE JOB + VICTORIA SPONGE CAKE

I handed in my 2 weeks notice yesterday in the office.

I've got to tell you, it is an amazing feeling to quit a job that you do not like. Don't get me wrong, I'm good at what I do but I just don't like it. This job has made me realize that working the usual 9-5 job for the rest of my life is not my thing. Mum, if you're reading, I guess that's the only thing you're right about me. I do not fit in this sort of life.

I totally admire people who work 9-5 jobs and love it. Honestly, hats off to you. I want to be you but I can never be.

Quitting this job has made me realize that I'm not cut out for a desk job. I want to be out and about instead of facing the computer 8 hours a day. I may be too quick to judge because I've only ever had one office job before and it's this one.

However, I have learned so much from here. I work closely with the manager. I get to communicate with people from Europe and China and deal with money, transactions and payments. At the same time, I also get to relax in the office on days when I really just need to sit down, be warm on days that are just too cold outside. I don't regret any of my time spent here. The manager has taught me so much - not just about this job but about life in general. He has been like a friend to me this whole time and I'm glad I got a chance to work with him. From the very day he interviewed me until today. He's been pushing me to go after what I want in life and whenever something goes wrong, he'll be there to encourage me.

Quitting is such a big step for me but I'm glad I did it because now I know how I really feel about everything.

SOMETHING NEW: WELL, QUITTING IS NOT SOMETHING I GET TO DO EVERYDAY NOW IS IT?

The weather yesterday was absolutely horrid. It was like a miserable winter's day basically. Just dark all day, no sun, no warmth, dark clouds, black sky - awful. Obviously, I couldn't do much in that crappy weather.

So I came home from work and asked my housemate what he would do on such a gloomy day. He said bake. I thought it was a good idea because I haven't baked in ages. And he said the only cake he ever eats is Victoria Sponge Cake, which is so very English of him.

I never thought of making a Victoria Sponge Cake ever. I don't really know why. But I decided to make it yesterday and boy oh boy, it was gooooood! Not going to lie, had it for breakfast this morning with a cup of tea - it was awesome.

Take a look. It's simple but really good. If you've never baked Victoria Sponge before, you should. It's easy and it tastes amazing, especially with a cup of tea :)

SOMETHING I LOVE: BAKING

SOMETHING NEW: MADE VICTORIA SPONGE CAKE

Hope you're all having a wonderful day

CUTEST TEAPOTS EVER + CINEMA

Good evening my lovely readers

So, like I've said in my previous post, I will be blogging everyday until June 15th, which is the day I go back to my country. Honestly, I'm excited to go back but I'm a little nervous too because I haven't seen my friends in such a long time. It's like I've been living a second life over here in the UK. But I'm sure everything will be just fine.

DAY 2 OF MY LITTLE ADVENTURES: CUTEST TEAPOTS I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE + X-MEN

There's a little place called "Crumb On In" which I've always wanted to go to but just couldn't find the time. So, I decided to go there for a little afternoon treat with my loved ones. And honestly, it's the cutest little shop ever. Everything they served was so fresh and the teapots - OH MY GOODNESS - were the cutest teapots I've ever seen in my life.

Take a look and you'll know what I mean :)

And then there's desserts :)

SOMETHING I LOVE: TEA + CAKES/ ANY SORT OF FOOD AT PLACES I'VE NEVER BEEN BEFORE

After relaxing for a bit, we decided to go to the cinema to watch the new X-Men: Apocalypse.

SOMETHING ON MY SUMMER BUCKET LIST: GO TO THE CINEMA AT LEAST 10 TIMES

SOMEONE I LOVE: JENNIFER LAWRENCE (HENCE X-MEN)

SOMETHING NEW: DRESS AND SHOES (BOUGHT THEM LAST YEAR AND ONLY TOOK THEM OUT WHEN I WAS CLEANING MY WARDROBE LAST FEW DAYS)

I'm really happy to be doing something I enjoy everyday, even if it's just putting on a never-before-worn dress or a new pair of shoes. It's just a refreshing feeling. I do almost the same thing everyday, wear the same clothes almost everyday too because I'm mostly in work uniforms. So it's just nice to have a different routine/different look.

Anyway, I hope everyone had a nice weekend and ready for another week ahead :)
