Your Koh Lipe Travel Guide

It still amazes me that there are so many islands I have yet to visit or even discover. That's probably one of the reasons why I love travelling. There's so much to learn.

Koh Lipe is a tiny Thai island near Malaysia's border.

Recently, I was there on a vacation for 3 days and let me tell you, if you are looking for pure beach relaxation getaway, I would highly recommend Koh Lipe.

Here's a handy travel guide if you are ever in/visiting Koh Lipe, Thailand:

- The only tricky thing is getting to the island itself. We took a ferry from Langkawi (Malaysia) to Koh Lipe. And because the water's too shallow, the ferries all have to stop quite a distance away and we have to actually get to the island by a longtail boat. But honestly, that was the only tricky bit -

- FOOD -

Koh Lipe Walking Street has a lot to offer. Whether you're vegetarian or not, you can definitely find what you want there. But since you ARE in Thailand, I would recommend Mango Sticky Rice (a must), Pad Thai, Thai Ice Tea (also a must), Tom Yam, and seafood.

- EXPENSES -

I did not spend a lot at all. In fact, I probably spent a total of RM300 (roughly THB2,500) for 3 days. Mostly on food. Transportation is only THB50 per person wherever you go. But we walked most times. Massage was about THB250-300 depending on what you're getting.

- SCENERY -

It's completely free to enjoy the sceneries.

3 MUST-VISIT PLACES IN HATYAI FOR FIRST-TIMERS

As a traveler, visiting a new place for the first time can be a little scary.

As adventurous as you are or you claim to be, there will definitely be a tiny part of you that will feel a little intimidated because you have no idea what to expect.

I am loving Thailand at the moment. In January, I've visited Krabi which was amazing.

Hatyai, Thailand was the first time for me.

Research was done, obviously. And from what I've seen and discovered on the internet, I can say that Hatyai is a small city and it definitely is a food paradise.

But anyway, if you are ever in Hatyai, Thailand - whether that's a day or two - these are 3 places you definitely MUST visit.

1. Samila Beach (in Songkhla)

2. Hatyai Municipal Park (the tip of Hatyai)

3. Hatyai Walking Street (Night time)

These 3 places are honestly amazing. Samila beach is nice and clean. If you want to feel like you're on top of the world, Hatyai Municipal Park is a must! There's cable car service as well. And Hatyai walking street is amazing for seafood! Highly recommended places!

6 AMAZING PLACES TO EAT IN HATYAI

As I mentioned in my previous post, I was off to Thailand for a couple of days.

This time - HatYai

I've actually never been to this small city before but I've heard that it's a food paradise. So naturally, why not right? Book a flight and try it.

My friend and I went together.

So, here's the deal. We are both fairly picky when it comes to food. What I mean by this is, we both enjoy food A LOT, we're both foodies and obviously, we will try food that entice us. However, we are not really adventurous - as in, we will not have worms, insects, or delicacies that we do not fancy.

Furthermore, she only eats in restaurants that are HALAL. And I, on the other hand, am a pescatarian - which means I am a vegetarian who only eats seafood. So, it is a little trickier for us but I don't feel like I'm missing out.

Obviously, for meat lovers out there, you will definitely NOT be disappointed in HatYai. But for vegans, it will be VERY difficult for you to enjoy.

For us, we enjoyed it to the max. So, if you are travelling with a friend/group of friends who are of our kinds, here are 6 good places to eat in HatYai - HALAL or not - definitely give it a go because it's a YES from both of us.
