Hello May

Holy shijmo! How are we already in the 5th month of 2019? Literally!

I guess it's true what they say. Time flies when you're having fun. And that's exactly how I've been living. Having fun, living life on the edge, hustling, playing.

This morning at work, my co-worker asked me what my plan was for this month, and I said "April's gonna be fun". He looked confused because he also seemed to think it was April.

But I would rather be a "time flies" person than a "stuck in the sands of time" kind of person.

So much has happened within the past 4 months. My life really has been a roller coaster - challenging, rough, beautiful, amazing, beyond-what-I-would've-imagined.

First off, one thing I'm incredibly proud of, I've finally finished my first novel. And even if it's not going to be the best-seller, at least I know I've poured my heart and soul into it and that's the only thing that matters.

Second, I've experienced betrayal and heartbreak first-hand. Yes, obviously. I've ended a friendship. That's a long story for another day but basically, I'm just here to tell you that when someone says "I'll always be here for you", even if it's coming from a 50-year-old, always trust ACTIONS instead of words - unless of course if that person is one of your family members.

The friendship I've had with person has been amazing - a roller coaster ride would be an understatement. It's like you've known that person in a past life or something like that (if you believe in that kind of thing). But of course, I put my trust in the wrong person, thinking he is older and wiser, but that's really not the case. Do I regret knowing this person? Absolutely. Do I regret the experience? No. Because we were best friends at one point. He was someone I'd do almost anything for.

Again, I'm here to tell you that even though there are bad people in this world, people who mistreat you, you can always be the bigger person and let it go. Everything will be OK. Take it from me, someone who's literally been hurt over and over again by that same person.

Thirdly, I've had some of the most beautiful moments meeting people and giving talks. Definitely a shock when I was chosen to be one of the ambassadors for young women for a couple of programs. It definitely made me think about the choices I make and how I present myself to young women. I mean, no one wants someone who's constantly cussing to be an ambassador. So, I definitely took myself more seriously when it comes to influencing young people.

These are just some of the amazing things I've been through in the span of 4 months. But I finally took some time to reflect on my life over the weekend because I do feel like I've been more of a robot instead of a human being lately. So, here are the things I'm focusing on this month (which I've already started):

1) Relax and take a break

2) Focus more on my health (both physically and mentally)

3) Read more (currently reading Chicken Soup for the Soul)

4) Be wary of the people I let into my life

5) Spend more time with friends and family

These are probably things that most people take for granted everyday. That's why I need to constantly remind myself what's important in life and what really makes me feel at peace.

So, I hope your month will be as beautiful as your soul :)

P/S: Sorry for the hiatus x

Things (I Want) To Do in May

Here's a little summary of my April: I got to tick off ALL 5 things from my list

April honestly went by too quickly. Family and loved ones were definitely my priority.

But I have to say, last month was brutal on me. I went through a series of roller coaster rides for 30 days (not even exaggerating). One of my best friends resigned and I felt like I've lost someone in my workplace. Another one of my good friends just decided that he didn't want to be friends with me anymore, which made me feel confused.

On the other hand, my family and friends kept me sane and intact. Of course, there's also family drama which is completely normal. I just forgotten what it was like to be in that drama so I had to adapt to it in a span of 2 weeks. Family drama - not fun.

I also got judged for my life choices and people who I'm friends with by someone who means a lot to me, which kinda sucked because I thought I'm all set with all the friends I have right now.

My emotions and my whole life went to a downward spiral during the final week of April. I've just been through so much and I didn't know how/have the time to pick myself back up again. It was a difficult time for me because I just felt like I've lost so much.

Long story short

As of this very moment, I'm still in the midst of picking myself back up again. But I know I'm definitely going to be better this month. I've sat down quietly for quite some time to think about what I'd like to do/achieve in May. And here it is.

1) Start working out

I've been putting this off for the longest time. Giving myself excuses like I'm too busy or I'm too tired (which is quite normal, if you asked me). But I've signed myself up for yoga classes again. I need more zen and chi in my life. And it's starting this month.

2) Creating a new routine

Again, for a long time, I've forgotten what it's like to put myself first and how I want my day to pan out. I've always been following other people's routines and plans and I felt comfortable. But I'm stepping out of that zone this month and making way for my own new routine.

3) Catch up with more people

I don't like using the term "following up" because I'm in it for the friendship and "following up" just sounds like a business deal to me. But this month, I am going to attend more of my friends' events and just catching up with all my new friends (a.k.a new people I've met for the past 2 months).

4) Be consistent

Another thing I will start doing more this month is being consistent - with my book, my blog, my videos, everything. No more excuses.

5) Focus

I've made a list of things I would like to focus on this month and let me just tell you, May is going to be all about self-love and self-care. Hopefully, you'll try it too.

One more month until we enter the half year mark, my friends. What are some of your goals for this month? Let me know in the comments :)

May Goals

Holy crapola!

What in God's name happened to April?!

Guys, we're already 8 days into May. It's the 5th month of the year already. HOW?!?!

*give me a moment to fathom this fact*

Anyway, April was a really productive month for me, I must say. I pretty much achieved everything in my list of April Goals and I'm really proud of myself. See, that's one good thing about having monthly goals - is that you know what you've achieved and you can keep track of your progress.

Well, this month, I'm going to stick to this motto:

"You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream."

I've realized that as we, human beings, grow and progress, we will always have new goals and new dreams. And that's why I think we should never be afraid to set new goals. Whatever it is, just do it :)

This month, my personal goal is to:

1. Attend more events and meet new people

2. Work hard, play hard

3. Spread happiness and positivity

4. Talk to friends more often

5. Eat healthy and cook more healthy meals at home

OK. Even though it's 8 days in, I feel like May will be a busy month, so let's do this!
