What Would You Do If You Were Given $10,000?

Some people could only dream of ever having $10,000 in their bank accounts. Some probably think $10,000 is not a big deal. What I'm trying to say is, there are so many different types of people in the world who view things differently, including money, of course.

But what if someone actually hands me $10,000, what exactly would I do?

Let me just start by saying - the possibilities are endless.

Now, because of my Accounting and Finance background, when it comes to numbers and money, I can be pretty specific. And here's how I would allocate my $10,000.

CHARITY AND GOOD CAUSE

15% would definitely go to charity and things that are important to me, for example, animal shelter, children and families in need, and just general things that I care about because as much as I want all $10,000 to myself, I don't think I can ever live with myself for spending it all on me.

FAMILY AND CLOSE FRIENDS

I would definitely give 20% of it to my family and close friends. Although I don't normally lend money to anyone, because let's face it, that's what banks are for, if a close friend were to ask me for some money, I would definitely help that friend out.

TRAVELLING

Now here's the fun part. 40% of the money would definitely go to travel expenses. And here's how it would work out:

10% on flight tickets:

Among the places on my bucket list - Switzerland, Maldives, Mumbai, New York, Brazil. I mean, I would like to visit these 5 places before adding more places on to my list :P

15% on hotels/accommodations

I'm definitely the type of person that needs a clean bathroom and a nice bed. Some 3-star hotels do do a good job but I mean, if I had extra money to spend, I'd definitely go higher than a 3-star hotel.

12% on FOOD!

Let's face it. I'm a foodie. I don't mind eating street food. However, a couple of fine dining won't hurt too :P And let's not forget snacks and junk food.

3% on transportation

Whenever I go on holiday, I think I spend 70% of the time walking and I'm OK with that. So, I would be a bit smarter when it comes to transportation.

SHOPPING

Now that we've established the travelling part, I would actually spend the remaining 25% on shopping. I am ashamed to say that I'm a full-on shopaholic. Even when I know I don't need that shirt in all 5 colours, I'd still get all 5 - which is something I'm trying to work on right now.

Whoever says money can't buy happiness obviously didn't know how to spend their money wisely because believe it or not, money makes things easier and when things are easier, you are less stressed. And when you are less stressed out, you become a happier person.

It all depends on your perspectives on money and how you actually spend it. So, let me ask you a question. If someone gave you $10,000 right now, what would you do with it? :)

4 SIMPLE OUTFITS FOR THE WEEKEND

Back in January, I promised my best friend AND myself that I will not go shopping until the next time she visits me again.

Why did I make such a ridiculous promise, you ask?

Well, frankly speaking, I was getting a bit carried away with buying clothes and items that I don't exactly need. And obviously, just moving to a new city and all that jazz, I made that my excuse to go shopping but soon after my best friend visited me, she made me see that that was not a good excuse at all. Hence why I stopped shopping for a few months. So, if you guys were wondering where my outfit posts or fashion posts were, well, now you know :P

And you know what?

.
I kept that promise!

Honestly, I deserve a freakin' trophy for not shopping online or in stores since 2 of my favourite stores are located right outside my apartment!

But OK, I'll just give myself a pat on the back for now.

Anyway, my best friend came over a couple of weeks ago and granted me permission to go shopping and so, we went a little cray cray! I even made a haul video, so if you're interested in that, the video will be at the end of this post :)

So, over the weekend, I put together a couple of bits and pieces that I recently purchased. And I am soooo loving my wardrobe right now. So anyway, I've created 4 simple looks/outfits for the weekend, whether you're going out for movies or hanging out with some friends in a cafe. They're just very casual and that's why I love them so much. You know me and my casual attires :P

1. Denim on Denim

2. The Basics

3. Best Jumper Ever

4. Simple

Which one's your fav??? :)

Also, if you want some advice on how to control yourself from shopping, like how I did, please let me know. Because I honestly think I can help some of you with that :D *lol*

STRAWBERRIES + SHOPPING + CINEMA

Good evening my lovely people

I hope everyone is having a nice and cozy evening right now. I know I am. I've always had a love-hate relationship with Sundays but I'm starting to love Sundays more now. Because it's literally a day for you to do absolutely nothing. Haha! And of course, it's a day for you to pamper and prepare yourself for another week ahead.

DAY 14 OF MY LITTLE ADVENTURES: STRAWBERRY SEASON + MASSIVE SHOPPING + ME BEFORE YOU

I had such a productive day yesterday. I feel like I am most productive on Saturdays. Anyone else feels that way or is it just me? :P After a nice breakfast with a few mates, I decided to get some strawberries because I don't often get the chance to have strawberries back in my country. And when I do, it is crazy expensive! Not to mention, the strawberries right now are just soooooo fresh as compared to when it was during winter time.

I got some Dutch strawberries (my personal fav) at the fruit stall near my place. They're just the best things!

SOMETHING I LOVE: STRAWBERRIES. I MEAN, I BASICALLY WENT A LITTLE STRAWBERRY CRAZY AS YOU CAN SEE. RIBENA STRAWBERRY WAS SOMETHING NEW FOR ME.

So, myself and Trevor decided to go on a massive shopping spree yesterday. For those of you who do not know, we will be going to Bali in a couple of weeks' time and I will be going back to my country and probably travelling to Thailand with my mum. Hence, the crazy shopping session. Plus, I haven't been shopping in suuuuchhhhhhh a long time. I mean, even people who know I love shopping knows I haven't been spending money on clothes for almost 2 months now. I've been such a good girl. Like I can't even believe how good I've been. But I decided to go a little crazy yesterday and got almost all my supplies for my trip and for home too. The only thing I've been putting off buying is bikinis. I've been saying I'm going to get myself a few bikinis now and still haven't gotten any yet. So, I'm probably going to have to get some this coming weekend (Rachel, if you're reading, have you gotten your bikini? lol).

But yes, I've got enough "supplies" for a month, I guess.

I won't show you guys what I've bought because it might bore the crap out of some of you haha. But I WILL show you my favourite purchase of the entire splurge.

It is this fun, flowery playsuit I got from New Look. I was so lucky to find the only one left hanging on the sale section and in MY size too. And it was only £8! I mean, look at the details on it. I especially love the criss-cross thing going on in the front area. And I don't know where this flowery obsession came from but I'm really digging these sorts of prints lately. Probably because it's summer time. But I didn't have this obsession last summer. Hmmmm?. Ah well.

SOMETHING I LOVE: SHOPPING!

Remember in my Summer Bucket List, I said I wanted to go to the cinema at least 10 times? Well, I went to watch "Me Before You" last night which made it my 4th trip to the cinema.

I thought it was going to be the usual chick-flick but there were loads of scenes that will make you laugh. And of course, cry. I haven't cried so much since "The Fault in Our Stars". But it was such a good movie. It makes you learn to appreciate your life even more. I loved it and might even go watch it again. Anyone? xP

SOMETHING I LOVE: MOVIES IN CINEMAS

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

The Body Shop SALE (Mini Splurge)

OK. So I don't know why, but lately, I've been having really dry skin. All around my elbows and my hands. Normally, I only have dry lips but I don't know how or why I have dry skin all of the sudden. I mean, I was fine in winter and it just turned spring last week. And I haven't worn any sleeveless outfits yet so my skin can't be too exposed to the weather or anything. I don't know :/

Anyway, whenever I have dry lips, I always always always get my lip glosses and lip balms from The Body Shop. I really love all the products and smells in Body Shop because it's not too overwhelming. For me, they all have the perfect scent, which sometimes make me buy products that I don't really need.

So, body shop sent me a couple of notifications and emails saying that they're having a clearance sale and I immediately went online to browse through everything that was on sale.

Hence, the word "mini splurge" :P Ooops

I mean, it is kind of mini. I love the look of all of them on the website so I got as many as I could :) And they arrived yesterday *squeeks*

As you can see, I went a little shower-gel crazy because I got a Strawberry one for Christmas and I absolutely loved it! It smelt lovely and felt really good on the skin. And these were mostly just £2-£4 each. BARGAIN!

LEFT TO RIGHT:

  1. Mango Shower Gel 60ml - £2
  2. Passion Fruit Shower Gel 250ml - £4
  3. Vineyard Peach Shower Gel 250ml - £2.50 (Currently using this one and LOVING it!)
  4. Frosted Plum Shower Gel 60ml - £3 (I love purple so decided to get this)

These things I got because I NEED and WANT them! :D

CLOCKWISE FROM TOP:

  1. Fijian Water Lotus Body Lotion 250ml - £4.50 (I don't have any lotions at the moment and this looked interesting)
  2. British Rose Petal-Soft Hand Cream 30ml - £5 (This was New-In and I needed hand cream so I got this and it smells SO GOOD!)
  3. Amazonian Water Lily Perfume - £3.25 (Honestly, look at how tiny and cute that bottle looks! And the name caught my eye too)
  4. Coconut Body Butter 50ml - £4 (Currently using every night and the smell actually makes me sleep better. NO JOKE)

Loving my purchases. whooop whoooop!

The sale is still going on so go on over to their website and check those out :D
