FINAL DAYS AT WORK + FAREWELL GIFTS

Good evening my lovely readers

Today's post is just going to be really simple and a little personal.

DAY 18 OF MY LITTLE ADVENTURES: 2 FINAL DAYS AT WORK + FEW THOUGHTFUL FAREWELL GIFTS

So as most of you know, I handed in my notice 2 weeks ago and yesterday was finally my last day at work. I feel happy and somewhat sad at the same time. I didn't think I would feel this way at all. A month ago, when I had this whole plan to quit both jobs in my head, I felt happy. I felt like I was finally going to be free! Thursday was my last shift as a waitress and yesterday was my last shift as a Project Manager.

Before actually quitting my jobs, I thought no one would give a single shit about me leaving. Because it's not like they can't find someone better than me to do the job or I'm just another employer leaving the company. Until my last days of working, I still felt that way.

So what made me think otherwise?

Let me start off with the waitress job.

On Thursday, I finally realized how attached I am to the people at work and how much they've changed my life, how much impact they've had on me, and how much my boss actually values me. Set aside the fact that I've been working there for 2 and a half years.

My boss took me out for coffee while I was on my 3-hour break. And he got personal with me and told me everything. From how he feels about each and every staff, to what happened in the past. I feel somewhat privileged to sit with him while he poured his heart out to me. I mean, I know I'm trustworthy (well, my close friends know it) but I didn't think I would ever be an employee that would earn his trust. It felt good. It was a refreshing feeling.

Meanwhile, the manager of the restaurant gave me a little goodbye speech in private which was very much appreciated. I've never seen him as the type of person that would give two fucks (I'm sorry, I really needed to use that word because that's the only way I can describe his personality) about anyone. He is a good person, don't get me wrong. But he is really quiet when it comes to talking to staffs. It's really good actually because that way. he keeps a safe distance from all the employees so that he won't be bias to anyone. And that's what I like about him. But when I received a little speech from him, not going to lie, I almost shed a tear. To cut it short, he told me I will always be welcomed to go back if I needed a job or anything.

My final shift as a waitress with these lovely people

It's funny how I feel so connected to these people considering they all came in later than me. I guess once you have your gang, you know it yourself. You feel safe with them and you can tell them anything. That's how I feel with them. We don't work together everyday and we don't see each other everyday but there's just the feeling of comfort when I'm with them. And I am forever grateful. I will never ever ever ever forget this moment.

Now, let me get on with my last day as a Project Manager yesterday.

I would never in a million years thought I would get an office job because I just have no confidence in what I do. But the manager was just such a nice man. Not going to lie, he can be a dick at times, but so does all the managers in the world.

He is probably one of the best people I've worked for. He's been nothing but a friend to me. Everytime I work with him in the office, it feels more like a party than work. He's been so encouraging and always supporting me. And honestly, I didn't think he would give a single fuck (again, this word is very much needed) about me leaving because of how he complains about all the previous staffs.

Instead, at 4 p.m., he asked me to home and enjoy the rest of my day. Before I left the office, he even handed me a little gift and a card. This absolutely took me by surprise as he doesn't look like the type of person who buys gifts for people. Haha. But I received a bottle of Jack Daniels and a nice little card with a nice little speech in it. I'm not even joking, I almost cried!

He gave me a nice goodbye speech in person as well. And to cut it short again, he told me the door is always open for me if I come back to Sunderland.

Alcohol and chocolate - PERFECT FAREWELL GIFTS! Haha!

I honestly didn't think I would be welcomed back to work for either of my companies but I'm so happy to hear that from them. I guess I sort of made an impact on their lives too. Haha!!! Who am I kidding! I'm just a simple girl :)

Now that I'm temporary jobless, I feel somewhat naked. Haha. But I feel relaxed too. We'll see what happens next though :D

Hope you're all having a great weekend so far!

My New ICE-WATCH

I feel like there are 3 types of women in the world:

1) She chooses watches over bracelets and bangles

2) She chooses bracelets and bangles over watches

3) She has a watch on one wrist and bracelets on the other

I'm more towards the third option. But IF.....someone was to come up to me and asked me to choose between bracelets and watches, my choice would definitely be watches - WITHOUT A DOUBT.

I've always been more of a boyish kind of girl (if that makes any sense to you). I never wear bracelets, I never buy shiny rings, and I always keep my arms and wrists as empty and "clean" as possible. Call me a weirdo but it is true :/

I only started loving jewelleries and BLINGS early last year! Seriously though, I barely understand how being a girl works - as Aleena puts it. I don't know anything about make-up or how to apply eye shadows...etc. However, I am going to make it my mission to learn how to put on make-up this year. I mean, seriously? 25 years old and still no clue about make-up?

Anyway, back to the point!

Although I've suddenly developed into a "woman" - shall we say - and started loving bracelets and other jewelleries, I still love watches very much.

Last Saturday, my boyfriend bought me a white one because he'd noticed me eyeing it for a couple of weeks now. I absolutely LOVE it! And it was on sale for only £20!

First of all, LOOK AT HOW AMAZING THE PACKAGING IS! *squeeks!*

I bought my very first Limited Edition Ice Watch back in 2013. I first came across it when I watched Jennifer Lopez's "On The Floor" music video. And then I spotted members of Black Eyed Peas wearing them on their music video. I was like "I need this watch now!"

Ever since then, I've been completely in love with ICE-WATCH. I love how it's silicon instead of rubber or leather because I was doing a lot of sports back then and I needed a watch that is water resistant and doesn't stink when it touches sweat and water.

Again, it's silicon so I don't have to worry about it coming in contact with perfume, water or sweat. This one was probably an old one because when I went on their website, it doesn't show this watch anymore.

But heck, I LOVE IT!

Now she has a new friend :D

They really do have some really nice watches in right now. All the patterns are lovely! You can check them out here ( ICE WATCH ). It's actually quite affordable unless you're going for the GOLD leather one with tons of Swarovski in it. But overall, I think it's a nice, classy watch considering it isn't leather or steel type like Rolex or other ridiculously expensive watches.

Can't believe I wrote such a long post about a watch. HAHA! But I actually want to know something else. Which type of female you are? :) ONE, TWO, OR THREE???

Valentine's Day DIY Gift

So, it's that time of the year again - yes, I'm talking about Valentine's Day - an event where some people spend most of their time thinking of what lovely gift to get him/her on this special occasion.

To be perfectly honest, Valentine's Day is like any other days if you ask me. Everyday is Valentine's Day if you're happy with the person you love. But I do see why people make this day extra special and everyone has their own reasons.

I've never really celebrated Valentine's Day, to be honest with you all. I've either been very very busy at work/with life or not in a relationship at all (haha). This year, I've decided to actually properly celebrate it with my main man. I don't know what he has planned or what he's giving me on the day but I do know what I'm giving him :D

I think occasions like Valentine's Day and Anniversaries are super personal as compared to birthdays or Christmases or New Years because the day is between just the both of you, which makes it special. So, I feel like for gifts, DIY presents make it even more meaningful and exceptional.

After scouting through various websites and projects, I've finally decided what to make for him.

This is actually my first ever DIY project and I'm going to call it "The Jar of Happiness". Basically, I picked a little something from projects that I really liked and mixed it with ideas of my own.

So, I'm just going to share my little DIY gift idea with everyone. It's super easy to make (I made this within 2 hours) and it brings out the creativity in you.

*This gift applies to both HIM and HER*

The Jar of Happiness:

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

. An empty glass jar (whatever kind of designs you desire)
. Some hearts stickers
. Heart and lace threads (Again, whatever kind of threads you desire)
. Unused cards (preferably with bright colours or hearts)
. Colourful notes
. Pictures of you and your partner (this is what makes it special)
. Heart napkins (optional)

TIME TO GET CREATIVE!

Basically, what I did was:

1) Cut the pictures and stick them IN the jar
2) Cut the unused cards into whatever shapes you want and stick them as a background
3) Tie some threads around the jar and around the neck of the jar
4) Paste some napkins as a second background (optional)
5) Write some meaningful messages on the colourful notes and fold them up
6) Put all those messages in the jar along with whatever else you want to put in the jar for him/her

So there it is. My first DIY gift for Valentine's Day. It actually looks really really good :D I hope this post has helped some of you who are actually struggling to find gifts.

*Note: This isn't a finished gift as I have yet to fill my jar up for him. I've only shown him how I've decorated this simple jar and also, he'll be reading my post if I wrote here what I've put in the jar for him. Haha! I want it to be a surprise for him on Sunday so, you get the idea :)
